RSA Security Addresses Growing Market for Secure Broadband Networking with New RSA BSAFE® IPSec Toolkit
RSA Security Committed to 'Securing IP Everywhere'

RSA® CONFERENCE, SAN FRANCISCO— RSA Security Inc. (NASDAQ: RSAS), the most trusted name in e-security™, today announced RSA BSAFE® IPSEC-C 1.0 security software which is designed to address the growing demand for securing broadband networks. Expanding the RSA VPN Security Portfolio of products, the RSA BSAFE IPSEC-C 1.0 product is a new software developer kit designed to enable OEMs to rapidly develop IPSec-compliant networking products used for creating virtual private networks across next generation wired and wireless networks.

RSA BSAFE IPSEC-C 1.0 software is designed to help OEMs develop IPSec-compliant networking products supporting the highest levels of security, performance and interoperability. IPSec underlies most VPN solutions today and will be increasingly important in the future, as support for IP expands beyond today's wired Internet and reaches into future cable and wireless networks. By supporting thorough testing for vendor interoperability, OEMs can assure their customers that their products will work reliably in a mixed-vendor networking environment.

"We believe that IPSec is critical to the future of network security, and we expect the demand for IPSec-compliant devices will grow in step with the prevalence of IP networking solutions, such as the cable and wireless markets," said Bill McQuaide, vice president of product marketing at RSA Security. "RSA Security is committed to tracking network security standards, like IPSec. With RSA BSAFE IPSEC-C 1.0 software, we have addressed the broadband networking industry's concern to quickly and cost-effectively upgrade to new security standards and retain control over their environment and production cycle."

Proving its ability to successfully deliver security solutions to the cable industry, RSA Security worked with leading cable modem manufacturers needing to quickly comply with CableLab's Data Over Cable Service Interface Specifications (DOCSIS) standards including Askey International, Bay Networks, Sony, Texas Instruments, and WebTV. With the growing demand for "always on" real-time cable delivery services, many cable equipment manufactures will soon need to provide technology that secures new parts of the cable network to prevent theft of cable services or protect privacy of customer's data.

Whether developing current or next generation broadband networking equipment, OEMs needing to meet accelerated time to market concerns while minimizing security risks, will need a proven implementation of the IPSec protocol.
