Monet, MO. And Bedford, MA. Jack Henry & Associates, Inc. (Nasdaq: JKHY), a leading provider of integrated computer systems and ATM/debit card/ACH transaction processing, announced that is has selected RSA Cyota Consumer Solutions, a division of RSA Security Inc. (Nasdaq: RSAS), in order to provide strong authentication for online banking to its financial institution clients. Jack Henry will offer the Company’s risk-based authentication solution to the 1,500 financial institutions using its Internet banking solutions.
“We strive to offer our customers the best solutions on the market, and when looking for an authentication solution we focused on four main criteria based on our customers’ feedback: security, usability, stability and vision as a long-term partner. RSA Security fits the bill on every count, and its solution ensures that our customers will be in compliance with recent regulatory guidance, while enjoying the most comprehensive authentication solution in production,” said Tony Wormington, president of Jack Henry. “Following a long due-diligence process in which we researched many providers and technologies, we concluded that RSA Security’s proven risk-based authentication technology strikes the perfect balance between security, usability and cost. This is another great addition to our growing suite of products and services.”
The RSA Adaptive Authentication technology analyzes every online transaction and scores the potential fraud-risk based on a broad range of metrics, including the identity of the user’s computer, IP address, geographic location and prior transaction behaviors. Additional authentication is invoked – in real-time – for high-risk transactions, either in the form of a ‘phone call or secret questions. The scoring is derived from the RSA Cyota eFraudNetwork? community, a cross-bank collaborative online fraud network that includes dozens of leading global financial institutions. The eFraudNetwork community shares fraudster information across multiple banks in real-time: when a fraudster attack is identified against one member, all others are instantaneously protected as well. The core risk-based authentication technology has been in use for more than 18 months by some of the largest banks in the United States and the United Kingdom, with more than $5 trillion in assets. The technology has proven to be very effective, processing millions of transactions with an 80 percent fraud reduction rate and an unsurpassed false-positive ratio.
“Partnering with leading Internet banking providers like Jack Henry is a key goal of ours,” said Chris Young, senior vice president and general manager of RSA Cyota Consumer Solutions. “Now, Jack Henry’s financial institution clients of all sizes can benefit from a fast and simple deployment of proven technology, direct from their trusted service provider. Our risk-based authentication solution is seeing great traction in the industry, and this partnership is a great endorsement of its formidable capabilities.”
