Cisco IP Telephony Solutions use a single network infrastructure for the transmission of data, voice and video traffic, delivering the business benefits of a converged network (increased productivity, greater business flexibility and reduced operational costs) to enterprise-level organizations. The Cisco IP Telephony Solution has four primary components: infrastructure: IP phones, Cisco CallManager and voice applications. The Cisco IP Telephony Solution communicates with the RSA Certificate Manager software on behalf of the phone, implements parts of the certificate generation procedure that are too processing-intensive for the phone and interacts with the phone for key generation and certificate installation. It can be configured to request certificates from customer-specified certificate authorities on behalf of the phone, or it can be configured to generate certificates locally.
