RSA Security Launches High-Performance, Wireless Security Software Designed for Seamless Integration with the Internet
New RSA BSAFE® Wireless Core Interoperable with Wired Networks and Optimized for Popular Wireless Platforms

BEDFORD, Mass.— RSA Security Inc. (NASDAQ: RSAS), the most trusted name in e-security™, today announced RSA BSAFE® Wireless Core encryption software that enables developers to build wireless solutions designed to communicate seamlessly with any standards-based application or network. RSA BSAFE Wireless Core encryption software is designed specifically for the constraints of the wireless environment and builds on RSA Security’s success in developing and delivering reliable security solutions for leading wireless vendors such as Ericsson, Matsushita, Nokia, Openwave and Symbian.

RSA BSAFE Wireless Core encryption software is intended to maximize an organization’s security investment by ensuring interoperability with the existing wired infrastructure, and offers developers the ability to rapidly add cryptographic security to wireless or embedded products. The RSA BSAFE Wireless Core encryption software includes assembly-language optimizations for key processors designed to allow developers to use RSA-based algorithms at unprecedented speed on popular wireless platforms such as Symbian OS, Palm OS and Windows CE. In addition, MultiPrime™ RSA, RSA Security’s implementation of Compaq Computer Corporation’s patented MultiPrime technology, is designed to process encrypting and signing operations as much as two times faster than previous methods, without sacrificing interoperability.

“RSA Security is working to meet the demand of high-performing, reduced footprint encryption software that delivers interoperability with the wired infrastructure,” said Mark Wilce, vice president of product management at Symbian. “By providing support for the Symbian OS, RSA Security is able to target the world’s top five handset manufacturers who are all developing next generation cell phones based on the Symbian OS.”

“The wireless market is demanding a security solution that creates a single, secure pipeline that is interoperable from the wired network to wireless clients,” said Bill McQuaide, vice president of product marketing at RSA Security. “RSA BSAFE Wireless Core encryption software demonstrates RSA Security’s commitment to being a leader in the wireless security market by satisfying the performance requirements of constrained environments while ensuring seamless interoperability with the existing Internet infrastructure.”
