Network Intelligence Delivers Innovative Security Event Management Software
enVision 2.003 Delivers Advanced Analytic Capabilities; Powers Market-Leading SEM Appliances

WESTWOOD, Mass— [Network Intelligence, a privately-held leader in transforming enterprise-wide data into compliance and security information, joined RSA, The Security Division of EMC, after its acquisition by EMC in September 2006.]

Network Intelligence™ Corp., the leader in appliance-based security event management (SEM), today announced the release of enVision version 2.003, the SEM software platform that powers the Network Intelligence Engine SEM appliance series. Integrated into Network Intelligence’s EX, HA and LS series appliances – including the new 50 Series appliances announced today – the software provides users with the ability to conduct deeper analysis of potential IT security threats. These solutions enable companies to achieve greater productivity and IT security ROI, by fully-leveraging current security implementations and providing a work for collecting, analyzing and managing disparate security data.

“With the latest version of our enVision software, customers have the ability to increase the overall productivity of IT security implementations by proactively managing the network in a manner that provides the greatest degree of visibility in terms of potential security threats,” said Matt Stevens, vice president of marketing and technology, Network Intelligence. “This increased visibility also enables companies to determine where productivity issues may need to be addressed, delivering even greater ROI.”

Enhancements incorporated into the enVision 2.003 release include:

  • Baseline Comparison Capabilities: Network Intelligence customers are able to compare security activity to a similar timeframe in the past. For customers, the primary benefit is the ability to access comparative data that helps to spell out where security threats may exist.

  • Customized Alerts: enVision now enables customers to monitor network activity and receive alerts based on self-set parameters. For example, an alert could be generated if “denied inbound events” increases 50 percent above the hourly average.

  • New Device Support: enVision 2.003 now integrates support for a variety of leading network and security devices, such as Jupiter Networks routers, Foundry Networks switches, nCircle’s IP360 vulnerability management system, the Cisco Content Services Switch and Check Point Next Generation Application Intelligence with SmartDefense.

enVision supports all Network Intelligence Engine appliances and will be immediately incorporated into new shipments. In 2003, Network Intelligence shipped a record-breaking 221 appliances supported by enVision, as more companies move towards implementing hardware-based SEM solutions.
