Synovus® (NYSE - "SNV"), the Columbus, Georgia-based financial services company with more than $18 billion in assets, today announced that it has selected the Cyota SecureVbV-Processor Service to deliver Verified by Visa to its affiliate banks. Verified by Visa is a password-based, online payer-authentication service designed to prevent unauthorized card use and reduce overall fraud on the Internet. Synovus’ implementation of Verified by Visa will be delivered by TSYS®, Synovus’ payment processing affiliate, which implemented Cyota’s complete SecureSuite platform last year.

Cyota SecureVbV-Processor allows financial institutions that process several institutions’ transactions to have a unified Verified by Visa service for their complete client base. SecureVbV-Processor provides financial institutions with comprehensive tools, including the ability to customize the service to meet specific needs.

Cyota provides SecureVbV solutions to U.S. financial institutions that issue approximately 80% of all cards currently eligible for Verified by Visa. SecureVbV is part of Cyota SecureSuite, a flexible payment security platform, in use by some of the world’s largest credit and debit card issuers. With SecureSuite, issuers and processors can easily test several applications gradually in a cost-effective way.
