RSA Security Furthers Relationship with BEA Systems to Help Enhance Product Support, Strategic Collaboration

ORLANDO, Fla. — BEA eWORLD 2003 CONFERENCE — RSA Security Inc. (Nasdaq: RSAS) announced today that it has teamed with BEA Systems (Nasdaq: BEAS), the world’s leading application infrastructure software company, to help provide support for BEA’s WebLogic Security Framework within the RSA ClearTrust® Web access management solution. The announcement furthers a long-standing collaboration between the two companies to deliver a centralized, pluggable application security infrastructure to BEA customers. RSA Security is the only security vendor with a three-star designation in the BEA Star Partner Program, and its RSA ClearTrust solution is designed to provide native integration with the WebLogic Security Framework. RSA Security will be demonstrating this solution at BEA eWorld in booth 434.

“RSA ClearTrust software is engineered to have native support of the WebLogic Security Framework, which is very compelling for the security and access management marketplace, and offers customers tremendous advantages in terms of ease of implementation, native application support and granularity of security available,” said Scott Edgington, vice president and general manager, global software partners, BEA Systems. “RSA ClearTrust Web access management software provides considerable value-add to native WebLogic Server security features by providing support for a broad range of authentication options, access management across a heterogeneous IT environment, and a best-of-breed authorization engine.”

BEA WebLogic Platform is designed to be a unified, simplified and extensible software infrastructure that can help to increase productivity and lower the cost structure of enterprise IT organizations. At the core of the BEA WebLogic Enterprise Platform is WebLogic Server which is engineered to provide the security infrastructure that secures all products across the platform, allowing users to extend and refine it for integration. The RSA ClearTrust Web access management solution is designed to be an easy-to-deploy, rules-based solution that centrally controls and manages user access privileges to Web-based resources based on definable user attributes, business rules and security policies.

RSA ClearTrust software is engineered to integrate with BEA WebLogic to share user names and access privileges in order to provide seamless single-sign-on (SSO) to users accessing corporate portals, applications servers and other protected Web resources. RSA ClearTrust software’s utilization of the new pluggable WebLogic Security Framework helps customers to achieve very granular security down to the method-level, extending well beyond the base security capabilities in WebLogic Server. BEA also uses RSA BSAFE® Crypto-J encryption software to help incorporate security options into its BEA WebLogic Server.

“The combined solution of BEA WebLogic Server and RSA ClearTrust software is a strong solution for organizations’ identity and access management needs, which demands a centralized view of security, access and application integration,” said Joe Uniejewski, senior vice president, Web Access Management division at RSA Security. “We are committed to helping our customers achieve the best solution for identity and access management, helping them to drive new business initiatives, reduce costs and, most importantly, retain optimal, dependable security.”
